What’s Included in the PADI Open Water Diver Course?
The course includes all 3 components required for full certification:
1. Online Theory (PADI eLearning)
Learn scuba theory at your own pace, online. Topics include:
How scuba diving works
Planning safe dives
Choosing and using scuba gear
Dive signals, safety, and safety procedures
You'll complete quizzes after each module and a final exam.

2. Confined Water Training (In Our Private Pool)
Practice essential skills in our indoor heated pool:
Setting up scuba equipment
Mask clearing
Buoyancy control
Emergency procedures
Water entries and exits
You’ll practice until you're comfortable and confident.
3. Open Water Certification Dives
Complete four certification dives over one weekend at a local dive site.
We schedule dive weekends from May through November, and we’ll help you choose a date that fits your schedule.

Course Requirements
To register, you must:
Be at least 10 years old
Be able to swim 200 metres
Be able to float or tread water for 10 minutes
Be in good general health (see our Medical Form)
If you answer “YES” to any questions on the medical form, please obtain written clearance from a physician before training begins.
Where Can I Do My Certification Dives?
You can choose to:
Complete your certification dives locally with us (May–November)
Finish them on one of our Scuba 2000 tropical dive trips
Please note: certification dives must be completed within 12 months of pool training. After that, a refresher course will be required.
