Your path to becoming a diver
Start in the pool.
Build toward open water.
Scuba Camp completes the academic and confined-water parts of the PADI Open Water Diver Referral course. Learn with our Richmond Hill team, then arrange the final certification dives locally or through a referral.
Learn the essentials.
01 / Included in camp
Study dive planning, scuba equipment, underwater signals and procedures. Complete knowledge reviews and an exam with instructor support, using your PADI materials or eLearning.
Practise in the pool.
02 / Included in camp
Work on equipment setup, mask clearing, water entry and exit, buoyancy, basic underwater navigation and safety procedures in our heated indoor pool.
Complete your dives.
03 / Book separately
Make four open-water dives with an instructor, usually over two days. Put your pool skills into practice to complete the certification requirements.
The final certification stage
Open-water dives are separate.
Book your four certification dives separately from camp. Local dives run from June to October, at locations such as Humber Bay or Tobermory.
Travelling instead? Ask your instructor about completing your dives with another PADI Instructor through a referral, or on a Scuba 2000 tropical trip. Arrange the schedule and fees for your chosen option before booking.
Completing camp alone does not complete your Open Water Diver certification.
