PADI Ice Diver

- Drysuit Diver Specialty strongly recommended

PADI Ice Diver Course is one of the most beautiful diving experience you will ever have, but also one of the most serious and demanding diving environment to explore without the proper training.
What you are going to learn
Teamwork is essential for ice diving, so you’ll start by learning the roles and responsibilities of support personnel, tenders and safety divers. You also discuss types of ice, site selection
and preparation, the effects of cold, emergency procedures and handling equipment issues. During three closely supervised ice dives, you’ll practice:
- Using specialized ice diving equipment and safety lines.
- Signals and communications along with line tending and line-securing techniques.
- Handling problems and safety diver procedures.
Process
The course is split up into two sections.
The first part of the course involves a three hour academic portion here at Scuba 2000. Typically done on a weeknight.
Following that, you will do Four ice dives over the course of two days.
Ice dive dates:
Jan 25th and 26th (ice thickness is dependant)
What You’ll Need?
Prerequisites:
- Hold an Advanced Open Water diver certification.
- Be 18 years or older.
Equipment:
Besides your basic scuba equipment, we recommend diving in a dry suit (drysuit rental $80)
